-QYKJENIGR DLQTTEXXQ ORCHESTRA This lias been an unusually successful year for the orchestra. The work of the iirst term culminated in the recital given just before the holidays. This was the only appearance of the orchestra before the public because most of the time was spent in con- structive work in the regular practicing. The biggest thing of the season was the at-coinpaniinent for the opera Martha, early this spring. Nothing so difficult has ever been undertaken in the history of the organization and if Mr. Embs had not been sure that the orchestra was capable oi it, the public would have been deprived of a splendid program. Another thing which made- the year an unusual one for the orchestra was the trip to Charlestown to play at the commencement. This was the first trip the orchestra has taken in many years and it was greatly enjoyed by every one. The work closed with the annual recital given May 19, There was much talent shown in this concert throughout the entire program. VVith the graduation of this class, Mr. Embs will lose many valuable members but, although this always happens, each year, he succeeds in producing a better Orchestra. So may this be the case next year. , , fl ,Z' 1 4? S I x v T E. N 14. 30

After a regular Speaker-Wrangler debate at each meeting, we Hnally decided upon calling ourselves the B. T, T. N. No, we had no officers-but why need we have any, with only eight girls? Nor have we any aim except that of making' our girls better friends. Hikes, wiencr roasts, kid parties, etch., gave us so many incidents of school life to store away for future enjoyment when we could no longer sae the friends of N. A. H. S. You are probably waiting for our name and you certainly shall know it, How could we choose a name from so many good ones suggested, that would show our trouble and be more appropriate than, Better This Than Nothingn?
