-egeifisfvi DLQTTELXXQ Plz um IU' Rilifile' THE SPEAKERS The Speakers, although this has been a year ol' hard work, feel that they have lived up to the plans made in their lirst meeting. Attempting to interest girls in night school. thc Speakers visited all the factories in which girls were employed and talked to them about the opening offered them there for continuing' their education. The Speakers were also interested in getting cleaner streets and alleys in New Albany and, to advertise and publish this movement, they took many pictures ol' llll- sightly places about town. Besides their civic work, the Speakers have kept in close touch with school life. They have given receptions for some of the organizations and have been instrumental in getting proininent business woincn to talk to the girls of the opportunities open to them in the colnniercial world. After taking first awards in both thc Sapinsky and Tyler contests, the Speakers closed a successful year with their victory in the debate with the Boys' High School 01' Louisville. . is ...... .- azz-255. s 1 13 E, N . 19 26
