While listening to the radio one night, I heard this report about Kathryn Rhoden: Miss Rhoden is a great comedian. She is threatening to overthrow Bob Hope, who has held the top spot for many years. At the time, Kathryn was on tour in South America. I met her there in Buenos Aires. She really is very funny--just as I remember her in 1950. l came upon Vernon Spiegel in the Philippines. He is now a high naval officer-- commander of a large fleet. He is one of the more brilliant militarists of the day. Back in San Francisco. I met Nancy Walter. She has won great fame as the model who poses for ads for hair products. Her gorgeous blonde hair is said to be the love- liest in America. So you see, dear diary. I was right when, ten years ago, I said that the Class of 1950 would not be forgotten. I'm very tired from my long trip, so good-night. Sincerely yours. THE PROPI-IETT Senior History We began the first act of our high school careers in 1946 as wide-eyed and mis- chievous Freshies. Carol Kuenzli, Rosemary Monroe, Marjorie Matthews, and Dorothy Armbruster were our leading players. Of course, the highlights of this act was the Senior Reception for the Freshies--initiation. Also, in this act we chose teal and white as our colors and the red carnation as our flower. We decided that the class motto would be, Today We Follow. Tomorrow We Lead. We also sold pencils and hats to earn money. The second act found us as Sophomores with the leads being played by Alvin Markley, Vernon Spiegel, Marie Adams, and john Morris. The third act found us becoming more important and very busy. Carol Kuenzli. Dorothy Armbruster. Marjorie Matthews, and Marie Adams managed the show. During this act. some of the scenes were: our class play, The Girl With Two Faces, in December, selling refreshments at the games, giving a dance. and holding a gala banquet at the Shawhan Hotel in Tiffin. The fourth, and final act of the play started in September of 1949 when we had reach- ed the stage as all-important Seniors. Dorothy Armbruster, Alvin Markley, Marjorie Mathews, and Rosemary Monroe got the leading parts this year. We sponsored a social during summer vacation. The social whirl of this act consisted of two parties--Halloween and Christmas. We also elected an annual staff, and began the hard work of making an annual,,selling the books, and selling advertisements. Another of the highlights of this act was having our pictures taken at Fostoria, Ohio. Before the play closes, we shall give a three-act play. We shall be banqueted by the juniors, and shall take part in the May Day exercises. After this will come the grand finale--Baccalaureate and Commencement. From this four-act play put on by the Senior Company, we hope you have learned to do your best in school and out, and to live your lives to the richest and fullest. Then after the grand finale there will be no regrets, only beautiful memories. Remember to do your best now, for Today We Follow--Tomorrow We Lead. IZ
