Prophecy For The Class of 1950 May 20. 1950 Dear Diary, I have just returned from a long trip which has taken me into many parts of the world. 1 have seen many strange and mysterious things. Among the sights, 1 ran into every member of the good ol' Class of l95O. Ten years ago, we graduated from Nevada High School, and since then each and every one of the class has made his mark in the world. The first one I bumped into was Marie Adams. Marie has just received the Nobel Peace Prize for her brilliant work in chemistry. I found Dorothy Armbruster in England. gathering material for her new book. Dorothy has become one of America's immortal novelists. Many of her books have been made into movies. While in Chicago, l saw Marjorie Bardon. She had just won the National Baking Contest there with one of her fine pies. The recipe is top secret. ln New York City, 1 attended a concert at the Met and found none other than the now famous Dolores Fletcher singing there. In the same city, I found Ted Frost also singing at the Met. He is acclaimed by critics as the greatest find since Caruso. New York seems to be the favorite spot of the Class of '50. I attended a concert at Carnegie Hall given by one of the greatest pianists of all times--Carol Kuenzli. While in the South, I attended a party at the magnificent mansion of Donald Logan. Donald is the owner and operator of Logan Sugar Plantations and Refining Companies. He is also a great favorite among the southern belles. l happened to pick up the New York Times newspaper, and noticed a picture of LeRoy jacobs on the front. LeRoy is captain of the New York Police Force and is internationally known for his work in busting crime rings. Alvin Markley is the most popular interior decorator in Hollywood. l-le has furnished the homes of many famous people. ln addition, he ownes a huge furniture store and a factory. Very brilliant is the way the stars describe him! At john Hopkins Hospital, I found Dr. Marjorie Matthews. She is one of the most famous surgeons and scientists of our time. She has recently been acclaimed for the discovery of a drug which cures acute cases of hiccups. ln Paris, l found a swank beauty salon owned and operated by Mary McClain. She is known the world over for her chic hair-dos. Back in Nevada. Ohio, I found Rosemary Monroe. She is one of the best elemen- tary teachers Nevada has ever had. Her students are the smartest in school. 1 might mention that while I was in Paris, Marlene Rarick was also there. She is a great fashion authority. Her latest creations are to be unveiled at the next Paris showing ll
