SOCIAL LIFE One of our school's big prides is our annua Anti-Van Party held on Halloween night. Here come the kids now to enjoy the first big event, movies at the Fox Theater. MR. KEITHLY, MISS RADFORD, and MR. DE- HON are keeping a sharp eye out so there'l be no Witching tonight! Young folks here like to dance and get many opportunities to do it, too. After Anti-Van, there's Homecoming, our sock hops, the band's sweetheart dance, and finally the Prom, a girl's dream come true. Yes, we like fun--don't suppose that makes us much different from any other school, though. And Churches OUR TOWN IS A TOWN OF CHURCHES--THE FIRST CHRIS- TIAN CHURCH is a fine represen- tative of Nevada's churches. It started out with a congregation of 20 in 1857, and now about 750 peo- ple here call themselves First Christians. The first frame build- ing was built in 1897. On the night of our annual Anti -Van party in 1948, Nevada students watched it burn to the ground from across the street in the old school. It was reconstructed in 1949 under the leadership of Rev. Pliney Elli- ott, and its white spire, all lit up at night, is an inspiration to the people here in OUR TOWN. CHRISTIAN CHURCH .-.ua
