Singing Toward Success The NCHS Choir was an active group this year. The choir partici- pated in three concerts and four music contests. The first concert featured numbers by the full choir, girls’ glee, boys’ glee, a trio, Tina Beck, Dawn Tenny, and Dawn Werth, and three soloists, Lisa Eck- els, Bruce Cambron, and Sara James. The full choir, two girls' en- sembles, and one mixed group pre- sented the Christmas Concert. Nearing contest time, the group began working on two contest num- bers for full choir, three choice girls’ ensembles and two choice boys’ ensembles. The groups participated in music contests at Ransom, Hays, Garden City, and Lindsborg. Solo- ists were Bruce Cambron, Dawn Tenny, John Ross, David McCabe, and Jill Uehling who received a I at the State Contest. The spring concert, the final con- cert of the year, included all group numbers and solos by Jill Uehling, John Ross, and Dawn Tenny. Thespians Devoted to the Arts This year the NCHS Thespians attended a play, “Play it Again, Sam.” presented by Fort Hays State University. They also attended the play, “The Emperor’s New Clothes,” in Ness City by the Wichita Children’s Theater. During the year the group sponsored two concession stands, one for football and one for basketball.
