This year the play was a classic by Jean Baptiste Moliere, “Tartuffe.” The cast had to learn several points in order to get the meaning across to their audience. First, they had to get some general history of the 17th Century; second, the language variations of the time were learned; third, they learned what was considered humorous at that time; and, fourth, probably the most difficult, they had to learn how to use proper gestures and facial expressions to emphasize the lines of their characters. The first performance was a demonstrative workship in Scott City. In the regular season the first contest was the One Act Festival in Ransom where a II rating was received. Next, was the league meet in LaCrosse where the play qualified for state with a I rating and third place over all. At the state One Act Tournament, at Ransom, the play received a II+. Members of the cast are: I. to r. — Will Eckels, (The Statue); Steven Bishop, (Damis); Kevin Foulke, (Tartuffe); Alan Oberley, (Orgon); Eric Welke, (Cleante); Tammy Schlegel, (Stand-in Volarie); Angie Har- mison, (Dorine); Lori Slagle, (Mariane); Joy Eckels, (Elmire); and not pictured Carolyn Mc- Cabe, (Sound).
