“Parisian Evening” In the middle of the cafeteria stood the replica of the Eiffel Tower surrounded by white wrought iron benches and multi-colored flowers. Sparkling blue stars dangled from the ceiling. Tiny streets such as la Rue de Dimension were lined with shops and sidewalk cafes covered with red and white awnings. This true Parisian Evening was the Junior-Senior Prom held on May 16th in the cafeteria. Entertained by the Graduates, couples strolled along the French Rues and had pictures taken in front of the Arc de Triomphe. As the evening came to a close, everyone sadly departed under a rose-covered trellis in hopes of returning again someday. Mr. King Produces Another One When an ex-convict moved to town. Sycamore Street was thrown into an uproar. Mr. and Mrs. Morrison (Don Wallace and Sue Wilder) and Mr. and Mrs. Hayes (Mike Sugarman and Wendi Hile- man) became the nucleus of the conflict. All but Mr. Sugarman were against the unwanted Blakes (Scott Kerr and Patty Walzer). His conflict was with himself. Roger and Chris Morrison (Bruno DiGeorgi and Hadden Blair) and Carolyn Hayes (Amy Hoye) were friends of Judy Blake (Marilou Augustine). With its dramatic climax and great acting Thunder on Sycamore Street has proved to be one of the greatest Mr. King has produced. In a dramatic moment in the play. Mr. and Mrs. Blake face the mob. Mrs. Blake finds it difficult to get along with her daughter Carolyn and often argues with her mother Mrs. Harkness (Karen Cooley). 25
