Fog Alters Homecoming Tradition Senior Class President, John Love escorts Cathy Karlin, flower girl, and Doug Grauel, crown bearer, through the fog. White mist rolled over the ground completely covering the muddy field. Shining their brightest, the spotlights looked like large glaring eyes staring at players and crowd alike. Never before had such scenery been the stage for Neshannock's Homecoming. The inclement weather, however, cast no damper on the crowd's spirits as they anxiously awaited the half time activities. While the ball passed from team to team, the minutes slipped away. Soon the announcement rang out. Due to the fog we will have to abandon the traditional procession. For the first time in Neshannock's history, the queen candidates and the court were escorted down the new all-weather track. Silence fell as thick as the fog when the long anticipated moment arrived. Neshannock's Home- coming Queen for the year 1969 is Miss—Sue Minner! Startled, Sue, received her royal bouquet amid loud and happy applause. When the activities were over. Sue, followed by her court took her place on the bleachers to view the rest of the game. Just as it had drifted in, the fog began to lift as if it had been there only for the ceremony.
