FQXDENT H73 TCW The original idea for the school annual came from the Class of 1933. Due to some difficulties they were unable to complete the annual, but the Class of 193k published the first TRIDENT. The Class of 1938 was prevented in realizing its ambition to publish this book. The annual was published by the Classes of '39 and vue, but in l9hl the war and the difficulty in getting mate- rials made it impossible for this class to publish its edition of the TRIDTNT. The TRIDENT was not published again until l9h6. The Class of 'h?, 'h8, 'h9, and 'SO kept up the good work, and we are trying to continue it. In choosing a name for the annual, the Class of l933 chose the name, TRIDENT. According to a Roman myth the god of the sea, Neptune, was always shown holding in his hand a symbol called a tri- dent. They thought this would be an appropriate name for the annual. The assistance of each and every one who has helped in making this book has been greatly appre- ciated. We arc grateful to our advertisers who have made the funds available, and we urge you to patronize them. As you look at these pages and read the thoughts we have preserved in this book, may you enjoy it to the fullest extent.
