PRES!-XMAN I-HSTQR It was on September 5, 1950, ten green but eager freshies entered high school at Neptune We entered with the thought of improving our ways instead of imitating someone else. The seniors gave us an initiation party on September 22, IQEO. In the middle of the year our class increased to eleven, for James Johnson moved from Kentucky to join us. To lead us through our freshman year, we chose Bill Cain, president, Dick Barna, vice- president, JoAnne Piper, secretary, Janis Hayes, treasurer, Deloris Harner, class reporter, with Miss Yewey as adviser. Three out of five of our boys played basket- ball and one played baseball. We continued through the year still standing firm to our theme. Bill Cain: nDad, what is meant by the three R's?n Mr. Cain: HMy boy, the three R's are well known through life. At twenty-five it's Romance, at forty-five it's Rent, and at sixty it's Rheuma- tism.H Janis Hayes, HI wonder how old Miss Yewey is.n Etta Lou Crow: NQuite old, I imagine, they say she used to teach Caesar.n Mr. Rahmann: nDick, I thought I told you to draw a train.
