SQPHCWNQRE I-HSTQRY Ten green freshmen entered Neptune High School on September E, l9h9. The first big event of the year was the initiation the seniors gave us. For our freshman year we had Miss Yewey as our adviser. We chose Larry Kruger, Presidentg Myrna Baer, vice- presidentg Betty Jean Rhyne, secretary-treasurer, Marion Heindel, class reporter. This year we had three boys playing basketball and two playing base- ball. Four of the girls were reserve cheerleaders. To begin our sophomore year, we still had ten students. Miss Bair was our class adviser. We chose Bob Wolfe, presidentg Dorothy Kaylor, vice- presidentg Myrna Baer, treasurerg Betty Jean Rhyne, secretary, Larry Kruger, class reporter. This year we had four boys playing basketball and two playing baseball, and the four girls were still in there serving as cheerleaders for the reserve basketball team. In our freshman year we nominated Betty Jean Rhyne for Queen and Larry Kruger for King. They were to compete against the other classes. In the sophomore year we chose Myrna Baer for Queen and Bob Wolfe for King. We, as Sophomores, are looking forward to our future years in Neptune High School hoping to do our best toward preparing for a successful future. Bob Wolfe, just rejected: Then this is absolutely final? Myrna Baer: Quiteg shall I return your letters? Bob: Please. There's some very good material in them that I can use again. Miss Yewey: Who was the smartest inventor? Larry Kruger: Thomas A. Edison. He invented the phonograph and radio so people would stay up all night and use his electric light bulbs.
