SUPHUIUUM HISIUHU It was on September 3, l9l+8, that ten green freshmen entered the halls of Neptune High School. We entered with the thought of climbing higher on our ladder. The seniors gave us an initiation party on September Zu, l9L+8. In our freshman year we chose for president, Richard Grimm, vice-president, Chester Stephenson, secretary and treasurer, Ellen Fisher, and class reporter, Ted Yewey. Miss Bair was our adviser. Before our first year was over, we lost two of our classmates, Janet Trissel and Ellen Fisher. This left eight of us to go on through our next three years. To begin our sophomore year there were eight of us to keep on climbing higher. To direct us through our sophomore year, we chose Chester Stephenson, presidentg Ted Yewey, vice-president, Doyle Ballinger, secretary and treasurer, Richard Grimm, class reporterg and class adviser, Miss Bair. During our sophomore year our number was in- creased to nine, by Henry Greber who moved from Mendon to Neptune. We now have two girls and sev- en boys in our class to keep on climbing. We are proud to say that five of our boys were basketball players during their sophomore year. In the freshman year the class nominated Romilda Becher for Queen and Richard Grimm for King at the Spring Carnival. These two competed against nominees of other classes. In our sopho- more year we nominated another King and Queen. They were Marilyn Matthews and Chester Stephenson. We are very proud to say that Chester was crowned King at the Spring Carnival. During these two years we were climbing, but still we must keep climbing higher on our ladder toward success in the years to come.
