. JUHIUH HISTUHH In September, l9u7, thirteen green freshmen entered high school life at Nep. The seniors helped us get a good start by giving us an initiation party. To lead us through our freshman year, we chose Russ- ell Poor, president, David Roether, vice-president, Leonard Baer, secretary and treasurer, Doris Ballin- ger, reporter, and Miss Yewey as our class adviser. In our sophomore year we began with the same thirteen pupils. We had to go on with only twelve, for at the middle of the year Mary Evelyn Howell moved to Buckland. To direct us through our sopho- more year, we chose Doris Ballinger as president, Guy Schmidt, vice-president, Esther Harner, secre- tary and treasurer, Delores Rhyme, reporter, and Miss Yewey as our class adviser. We were very happy to have Russell Poor elected as King at our Spring Carnival. In our junior year we brought our class number back up to thirteen. Helen Jean Martin joined us at the beginning of the year. For this year we chose Dave Roether, president, Jim Hayes, vice-president, Guy Schmidt, treasurer, Doris Ballinger, secretary, and Jim Hayes, reporter. In our junior year we presented our first class play, HThe Antics of Andrew.W As a reward to the side selling the most tickets, the boys' side treated the girls. This year we had the Queen elec- ted from our class. It was Esther Harner. On May 5, we entertained the seniors in the Crystal Room at the Argonne Hotel, Lima. Seven of the boys played basketball and four of the girls were Varsity Cheer- eaders. Through our school life we have been climbing the ladder of learning and therefore not clinging to the attitudes and thoughts we had as green Hfresh- ies.H We have had a busy year and look forward to a better one next year.
