Neptune Downs Asbur Park I3-7 Coach of the Year, John Bednarik, advises Ted Beekman, VICTORY! After thirty-tive years of grit and determination the Scarlet Fliers Hnally crashed through the Bishops' line and triumphantly scored a I3-7 win over the frenzied Asbury Park team. The first halt was a scene of hard-nose blocking and tackling, with Asbury con- trolling the ball. With little time left Neptune stopped just short of the goal line and the first half ended with a tie score ot 7-7. Neptune controlled the ball in the second half. The climax came when Hopkins scored the winning touchdown with a spectacular run and no time left on the clock. Following the victory, the jubilant crowd broke into a chaos during which the coach, team, cheerleaders, and several spectators were thrown into Sunset Lake. Ricky Hopkins makes o gain for Neptune. 160
