STUDENTS PARTICIPATE IN VARIOUS ACTIVITIES Another unique year at N.H.S. has passed with fond remembrances. Part of the uniqueness was due to the lowest enrollment in the history of N.EES. — thirty-seven students. Regardless of size, the traditional learning experiences and extracurricular activities were carried on thereby giving N.H.S. students ample opportunities to participate in sports, plays, clubs, and a variety of classes. Again, a few students were enrolled in Kewanee High classes for specialized instruction not offered at Neponset. The year was filled with learning not only in the classroom, but in other ways as well. Thus, as we look back and draw upon these learning experiences, we can look to the future with more anticipation, determination, capability, and confidence. Coach Chuck Blake receives the National Coaches Award recognizing him for his past accomplishments in coaching the high school girl's basketball teams. Working on their Algebra I homework, Chadd and Mitch make sure their answers are the same. While performing “The Shoemaker’s Wife for the Woman's Thursday Club, Stacy Dahl makes light of the fact that Ben is frightened by the shoemaker’s ghost. Later in the year, the Advanced English Class performed the play for the Senior Citizens. Waiting to make his appearance at the Christmas Party, Santa Claus (Tim Bennett) relaxes with his two elves, Stacy Dahl and Karen Hechtner.
