SMALL CLASSES ENABLE TEACHERS TO GIVE PERSONALIZED INSTRUCTION MISS MARJORIE CLARK Enjoying a new electronic typewriter after years of using manuals. Miss Clark gives a demonstration for one of her typing classes. In addition to teaching two typing classes, she also teaches French I II, office practice, and Shorthand I. Miss Clark serves as sponsor for the French Club. Junior Class, and the Cheerleaders. MR. DALE BARTLETT Mr. Bartlett seems enthusiastic while waiting for the band members to come to their first-hour class. Mr. Bartlett, who substituted several months for Mrs. Page, was responsible for all the music classes and programs in both the high school and elementary school while at Neponsct. MRS. CAROL GERROND Moving into a new age of word processing, Mrs. Gerrond checks some information to be entered into the computer. Mrs. Gerrond's busy schedule involves teaching all of the English classes, keeping the library in working order, directing two plays, and sponsoring the Mask Script Club. 10

NEW PRINCIPAL WELCOMED TO THE ADMINISTRATIVE STAFF High school secretary and district treasurer, Carol Nash, uses the copier, a real time saver as compared to the past when copies were made manually or with a spirit duplicator. The copier is one of the most heavily used pieces of equipment in the high school. Mr. George Hughbanks checks some of the many trophies won by previous athletic teams at Neponset as he anticipates new ones to be added during this year. In fulfilling his first year as principal at Neponset, Mr. Hughbaqks became accustomed to a smaller school enrollment and to all new faces among the faculty, student body, and parents. His new position also entailed serving as transportation director, athletic director, counselor, teaching a computer class the second semester, and serving as the freshmen class advisor. 9

MRS. LAURIE STEGER Brushing up on her tennis skills, Mrs. Steger prepares to show one of her PE classes a proper serve. Besides teaching PE, she also teaches world history, U.S. history, and U.S. government. Mrs. Steger is also involved with basketball as she coaches the grade school girl’s team and serves as assistant coach of the high school girl’s team. MR. JOHN NELL Using the new VCR instead of the old movie projector, Mr. Nell prepares to show a film to his driver education class. This year, Mr. Nell teaches introductory business, pre-algebra, geometry, accounting. and driver education. He also serves as advisor for the Annual Staff. MRS. JANE HOOD Mrs. Hood is well pleased with the pics which were prepared by one of her home economics students. Being new on the staff this year, Mrs. Hood was initiated into teaching home economics, consumer education, and health. Additional duties involved sponsoring the FHA and their many activities. 11
