MR. FRANCIS HAYS, Principal Mr. Francis Hays has been the principal at NHS for two years. He teaches Chemistry and General Science and also sponsors the Student Council. Mr. Hays received his B.S. at Loras College, Dubuque, Iowa, and his M.S. at the University of Wisconsin. SCHOOL BOARD LEFT TO RIGHT - Mr. Arthur Bradley, Mr. Curtis Pickering, Mr. Gordon Burnett, Mr. Victor Lyford, Mr. Ralph Stabler, Mr. Marvin Hepner, and Mr. Glen Shaner. MRS. EVELINE LYFORD Secretary Mrs. Lyford has been the office secretary for two years. She is always congenial and helpful to the faculty and students. 4

FACULTY BOASTS 63 £ Mr. Vernon Luther has taught Vocational Agriculture at NHS for the past 21 years. He received his B.S. in agriculture at the University of Wisconsin and sponsors the Senior class and FFA. Mrs. Carol Gerrond received her B.S. in education at Illinois State University. She has been teaching English at NHS for the past 5 years and is sponsor of Dramatics. Mrs. Helen Pickering received her B.A. at the U. of I. She has been teaching French at NHS for the past 2 years and this year she is also the World History instructor. Mr. Larry Freeman is the coach, Biology and American History teacher. Eureka College awarded Mr. Freeman with his Bachelor of Arts 5 years ago. He has taught here all 5 years. 6
