CLASS TRIP TO BARABOO WISCONSIN After a weeks rest we were all looking forward to our class trip which we had been planning for all year. We left Neponset at six o'clock Friday morning June first. Cars, driven by Bob Ver Heeche, Lee Bennett, and Mr. Stubbs, were our means of transportation. Our first stop was the Cave of the Mounds in Blue Mounds Wisconsin. This was quite an experience for us who had never been in a cave. Little Norway was our next stop. Here we saw many things that were used in the pioneer days when the people came from Norway. We arrived at the Farm Kitchen about three thirty. Our first adventure was a horseback ride through the winding, woody trails of Wisconsin. When we came home to the Farm Kitchen and cleaned up for dinner some of us were too sore to sit down. After dinner the girls went to see the show State Fair while the boys proceeded to scout around. Everyone was up bright and early Saturday as we were going to the Dells. First thing was the boat trip through the upper Dells. For lunch we had a picnic. Then we proceeded to Fort Dells. Here Mrs. Stubbs was given a little puppy. Whew! The day is That evening we enjoyed playing eighteen holes of minature golf and a short drive to the lake. Later that night a pizza party was given in one of the cottages. Sunday morning some of us went to church. After lunch we went back to the Dells for a ride on the Ducks. which proved to be a rather wet trip. In the evening we went to the show and afterwards had another part Monday morning everyone slept lat' it was our last day together. In the afternoon we wf to Devil's Lake for swimming and boating. On the v 1 home we stopped in Baraboo to do a little shopping. After supper we started home for Illinois. We arrived home early the following morning tired but happy with many pleasant memories. What's under our bed? over Sleeping Beauty Got it fixed Lee? Pizza is fattening girls!

SENIOR CLASS POEM This poem has been a fantastic job, Parts of it will make you sob. But it has its laughs and giggles too, So here's our poem for sixty-two. On his Triumph he does speed; To all the kids he's known as Deed. For three long years he ran around, Until a freshman tamed him down. To be a nurse is Phyllis' goal, She's always on the honor roll. She plays the flute with the greatest ease, And to our class she adds prestige. The D.A.R. is Connie's cla?m; to go to Northern is her aim. She's got a lot of friends we know, And Bobby Bennett is her beau. He's president of the Senior class; In Ag. he always wins the brass. This young lad's known as Robert V., And his steady's name is Susie P. Jim Thorp drives a bright red Merc, And from his job he'll never shirk. He's taken math for four years now; He'll be an engineer - - - and how! When it comes to acting she can't be beat; The clarinet she plays quite neat. With these two lines it's plain to see, That this girls' name is Susie P. Good grades are Virginia's main concern; When it comes to books she wants to learn. A Western lad was her first steady. For college we all know she's ready. The U. of I. will receive this gal; Barbara's her name and Connie's her pal. Her scholastic average is very high, And her favorite dish is a pizza pie. Vicki's the worker in our group; She carries on when others droop. To our band she adds the beat, Because she plays the drum so neat. Clarence Rednour is his name. Through Mr. L. he'll reach his fame. During games he really roots; Around the school we call him Scoots. After school Diana does scoot To Peterson's to earn some loot. In band she plays the clarinet; A secretary she'll be, we bet. Melanie Holmes is quite a poet; Just ask Verbout—he'll say, I know it. For four years now she's cheered the team; Everyone knows how she can scream. These last few lines for Brad are saved; All this year his car he's craved. To traffic cops he throws a scare— Look out Sioux Falls, you'd better beware! John Verbout is this lad's name; In basketball he won much fame. He's the tallest boy in the Senior class, And he's always seen with a certain lass. Now you've heard this bunch of junk. In poetry, of course, we flunk. Well, it's our poem and we are proud, But we shouldn't have read it quite so loud. Rosie's always quiet and shy, But she catches Larry's eye. This year she's head of the F.H.A. As a homemaker, she'll go a long, long way. Lee's gridiron number was thirty-eight. As a football player he's really great! His good physique is hard to beat, From his big, strong arms to his tremendous feet. Lois was our Homecoming queen; She makes the most of being a teen. In plays she is the flirty lass. We're glad to have her in our class. Written by: John Verbout Melanie Holmes Susie Pletkovich Bob Ver Heecke 16
