Sophomore Class History Thirteen freshmen entered Neponset High on September 1, 1955. We elected officers as follows: Jean Papacek, president; Bill Mercer, vice president; Janet Miller, secretary-treasurer. We were represented on the Booster Club by Carolyn Carley and Bill Mercer. The next step in our school career was our initiation which we passed with flying colors. We sponsored the traditional Valentine Party. The last part of August, 1956, a group of boys and girls known as the class of 59 met for a second time at Neponset High School. Most of us had survived one year at N. H. S. and had decided to try for another. Our class consisted of 14 students when we started school. Along the line, though, we lost Judy Harter, but we gained two new boys. Dennis Williams who came from Buda High School, and John Rednour from Princeton joined our class. Cecil Dahl, a former classmate returned to N. H. S. Early in the year the class elected officers. They are Carolyn Carley, Secretary and Treasurer; Ronnie Miller, Vice-President; and Bill Mercer, President. Mrs. High and Mr. Luther are our class sponsors. Our class was the sponsor of the Freshmen Initiation Party. We also entered a float in the Homecoming Parade with the theme Bury the Bears. This page sponsored by ED'S REPAIR SHOP 23
