Senior Class History On September 1, 1953, fifteen brave freshmen climbed aboard a Burlington engine at the Grade School and went for a short ride to N, W. S. Here they were joined by Richard Sellon and Suzanne Bur-cham where they got on a Zephyr Streamliner for a journey through high school. The students who were chosen to conduct us through our Freshman year were: Marlene Williams, president; Dick Sellon, vice president; Carol Krahn, secretary-treasurer; Margaret Carley and Bill Guthrie, Booster Club. All were active in school activities. One of our activities was sponsoring the Valentine's Party which was a great success. Our conductor was Mr. Luther. In the fall of '54, sixteen members entered the Zephyr Streamliner to continue their journey through N. H. S. The following students were chosen to conduct us through our second year: Carol Krahn, president; Bruce Heise, vice president; Richard Redenius, secretary-treasurer. Margaret Carley, Joan Williams, Robert Foes, and Billy Guthrie were on the Booster Club. The class was very active in all activities. We happily initiated the Freshmen at a party which was a roaring success. Our float in the Homecoming Parade rated second. During the journey we lost Roy Sharer who transferred to Kewanee. Miss Tracy was our conductor. The junior stage of our trip through high school was a busy one. All year we sold refreshments at games and at noons to raise money for the Junior-Senior Prom. Our prom was May 12 at Hotel Clark in Princeton, the theme was Satellite Ball, and the band was Jimmy Marvin. The officers who conducted us through the year were: Richard Redenius, president; Stanley Kaiser, vice president; Bruce Heise, secretary; Margaret Carley, treasurer. Bill Guthrie, Richard Redenius, Carol Krahn, Margaret Carley, Marlene Williams, and Joan Williams, were on the Booster Club. During the journey we lost Richard Sellon who transferred to Sheffield. Mrs. Chesnutt was our conductor for the trip. We have just completed the fourth stage of our journey fhrough N.H.S. and have left the train at Graduation Point. During the trip, we won first prize in the Homecoming Parade led by Queen Marlene Williams and King Bob Foes. We gave the annual Christmas party. We engaged the Tom Owen's Band for the Senior Dance, March 29. We worked hard on the annual and took our trip to Chicago. Those who took care of the business of the class were: Margaret Carley, president; Marlene Williams, vice president; Carol Krahn, secretary; Joan Williams, treasurer; Suzanne Burcham, reporter. Mrs. Chesnutt and Mr. Kizer were our conductors for our last and final lap at N.H.S. Richard Redenius was editor of the annual and Bruce Heise was editor oi the newspaper.
