W- III un I THE ZEPHYR.. . - - TH E TRACK AHEAD - - - Everyone in our class will take different life tracks, They'll do different things and perform different acts. During this poem, we do hope to cover, Every kid in our class, both farmer and lover. First is John Bates, a swell kid whom we'll never forget. Don Gerrond, oh yes, we all know he's a charmerg But Marlene, we can guess, will make him a farmer. Now we can kill two birds with one stone, Wendell and Beulah, they're always alone. Wendell will be an author so true, While Beulah still likes something borrowed and blue. Now here at last to our classmate, old Maurice, Whatever we'll do, he'll be there pulling for us. He'll probably teach English at good N. H. S., How he'll use pronouns is anyone's guess. Now Barbara Mercer, our class president, She's tried for a man so hard that she's bent, Barb will marry a preacher, I guess, Don't worry, she'll have her chance to say, Yes . Here we are to our own Willis Woody He'll be a farmer so loving and good. He says if his livestock are sick in the head, He won't call a doctor, he'll shoot them instead.. Neil Burnett it's a problem to say, He may make music but probably hay. Bernice, oh Bernice, all the boys are afraid, Will end up a widow with all of them daid, But we'll not feel sorry for this Widow's grey hair, For her husband, you see, was a big millionaire. Jim Verbout, who tries for every teacher, Will surely grow up to be a preacher, Jim as a preacher is a pain in the neck, But it rhymed, that's what matters, and so what the heck. Janis, our nurse, really wants that profession, But here to you all make a confession, What she actually wants is really a mate, 'Cause real sick men don't usually date. Oh, she'1l get married and forever they'll roam, But soon she'll find out that it just ain't like home. Last on the list is Shirley, our friend, She'll be your pal until the end.
