It was, therefore, a pleasure to welcome him back as princi¬ pal this year and find these same admirable qualities among us once more. Mr. Harville does not ask more of his faculty than he requires of himself. The standard that he sets for both is high and it demands the giving of ones very best for the boys and girls of Nelson County. The School is not the only area in which Mr. Harville ' s influence is felt. The whole community is enriched by his activities in the church and in civic organizations. His willingness to serve and his able performance have made him a favored speaker at county functions. Because of his dedication to the total program of the school and the community which it serves, Nel¬ son County High School feels that it is indeed fortunate in having Mr. Harville as its new principal. 13

MRS. REEFA McGUFFIN, General Supervisor Mrs. Reefa McGuffin, General Supervisor, is dedicated to the task of improving instruction in the schools of Nelson County. She inspires confidence in those with whom she works and she sees each job through to a successful conclusion. Night or day she lends a sympathetic ear to anyone ' s problems whether personal or professional. For her many services to the schools and to the communi¬ ty, we are most grateful. 12 This is Mr. Richard Moon, the young man who makes each life brighter by his happy smile. There is no task too hard for him to tackle if it is in the best interest of the youth of Nelson County.

MR. DAN GUSMEROTTI, Assistant Principal Mr. Gus, as all his friends like to call him, works quietly and efficiently. His calm manner and common sense approach to all problems have earned him the respect and good will of both faculty and student body. Mr. Gus ' duties are many and varied, yet he always seems organized and in command of the situation. One feels that he has an inner reserve of strength that communicates it¬ self to those with whom he comes in contact. Perhaps the twinkle in his eye indicating that he is enjoying life fully is responsible for much of the cheer that he is able to radiate. Mr. Gus has b een at Nelson County High School only a relatively short time, but he al¬ ready belongs and it is our wish that he will be long among us. Miss Reba Mays, school secretary, is truly NCHS’s Girl Friday. Always cooperative, she willingly responds to the many demands on her time and energy and is interested in every¬ thing connected with the school. 14
