Furthermore, it must have the best possible facilities if the task Je cMonis wellaccompli shed. The peo ple of Nelson County, in recognition of this fact, have made many sacrifices to provide their young people with a fine the?county in the field of education! Two of the more important strides forward have been a consolida¬ tion of high schools and the more recent additionof an eighth grade. Having one high school has resulted 111 a feeling H uut hro ughout the county.. The school building and grounds have served“iTot only as a praWTTSWcmon, but to facilitate community social, cultural, and intellectual growth. In ages past and indeed today, knowledge, growth, and learning have all been and still are synonymous with one word - book. Indisputable is the overwhelming importance of books of all types to progress in tiic arts and learning. In truth, nothing is so important to the field of education as the printed word. Ihis, the importance of book learning, whether it be volumes upon volumes of them, or only one not so unusual textbook, is the theme of the Thomas Nelson, Jr. for 1961. There is no frigate like a book.
