This crew does more than push carts and run projectors for the school, although these tasks are on important part of the job. Members gain knowledge in fields of electronics, photography television, and the production of media. Rick Kieymen ond Lone Wieker combined, mode this cross- country season one of the most rewarding ever. People hove said Kleymen doesn't work his kids hard enough, but the fact is, Armstrong teoms hove mode store in the lost ten years- more than any other school in the store. The boys' teom, though locking in experience, showed what depth, determination and power con do. Led by junior Al Godfrey they finished in tie for second in the conference with o 6-2 record; Godfrey remained undefeated end was named to the All Conference Teom olong with junior Jeff Dohl. The boys placed fifth in the region meet, with AI Godfrey advancing to the state meet as on individual. He tools 0 chance by going out fast at store, and come out ahead. He finished in 13th place and earned All Store honors. Five girls were named to the All Conference Teom: seniors Dione Kimble, Julie Wolly and juniors Liso Koelfgeh, Carole Corsten and Kelly Lindgren. The undefeated girls ran away with the region meet. Liso Koelfgen finished first in regions, with the team winning the Region VI-AA Championship. On the day of the Store Meet, the Armstrong girls team stepped up to the line ranked second in the store cooches' poll, with Lisa Koelfgen ranked first 05 on individual. At that point nobody knew how valid the rankings were, but just eleven minutes and ten seconds later, Liso entered. the chute first and proved these rankings correct. The Falcon skiers were unprepared for the srore course's hilly rerroin considering each race, including rhe region course, had been on a lake. Liso Koelfgen, finishing second individually, led the women's ream ro o srrong sixth place. The boys, hampered by numerous equipmenr failures and other problems, also finished sixth.
