On-The-Job According to a student survey, about jobs, the students of Armstrong are employed in many different types of work. Food service rboth fast food and restaurants; foc- tory work, secretarial jobs, mechanics, aids and kitchen work in nursing homes, soles, grocery jobs, and jonitor work, are some examples. Some other results of the sur- vey: - 6496 of the Armstrong students who responded to the survey work: 4 out of 20 have a full-time job - Almost 7596 work both weekdays and weekends - Average number of hours worked per week ran from 0 minimum of 2 to a high of 60 with more than half working 20 or more hours per week e About V4 of the students feel that their jobs inter- fere with their school work, while more than half feel that employment interfered with social life - Woges ran from $4.00 to $8.00 an hour. 7096 made $3.00 an hour but less than 4096 make more than $4.00 an hour - Seniors represent more than half of those having jobs, with juniors coming next with 2396, and soph- omores with 1996 - The highest percentage of people work in restau- rants and nursing homes

Homecoming Monday I woke To find my sisTer dressed like she jusT goT off a horse. I reTurned my books To differenT resource cenTers only To find nrun for fun and TTThe worm plasTered on The walls. I suddenly realized This was The firsT day of homecoming week - a week To be filled wiTh more spiriT Than I'd seen in all my years aT Arm- sTrong. There was arm wresTling during lunch, and frisbee conTesTs afTer school. All week long people had a new dress code. They wore everyThing from Roman Togas To peace signs and mini-skirTs. Tuesday, Queen Anne Rundell and King Dave Nash were crowned To reign over The week's acTiviTies. Thursday There was a big spagheTTi dinner sponsored by The soccer Team. The commons was filled wiTh shredded newspaper while ev- eryone psyched up for The game Friday. The pepfesT was bigger Than ever wiTh The Trike conTesT, arm wresTIing finals, 0 fire eaTer and a gymnasTic presenTaTion. The varieTy show feaTured many bands, music, and even a special whisTIing belly buTTon song by our Teachers. OuTside was The TradiTional braT fry and car show. SaTurday ended The week wiTh The homecoming dance. The whole week was Topped off by our swimming, volleyball, soccer and fooTbaII Teams winning Their games. To The juniors and sophomores: we wish you luck in Trying To beaT Homecoming '79!
