Even before walking into school after summer vacation, students saw, or rather felt, a new addition, speed bumps. These were greeted by cringes, , grimaces, and a few choice words. However, the obstacles did not hinder students from starting the 78379 school year off with more spirit than ever. Several staff positions shifted, and juniors and seniors saw many confused faces trying to adjust to the Armstrong system, besides the sophomores. The bookstore added a new dimension to its menu. Health foods, such as yogurt, granola, and raisins were offered,ealong with old favorites. Lockers were removed from the lower commons area and relocated on the second floor. Concrete bases served as a reminder of what had been. Not as tangible, but very noticeable was an increase of student enthusiasm and participation in special events. Students seemed to take more pride in themselves and the school. Homecoming festivities drew students together in a spirit of companionship like never before. Having changes at school in not a new idea, but they serve as a continual example of growth and development, which are so important to a high school preparing its students for life on their own.
