We,ve got the spirit! Yes we do! Homecoming was livelier than ever this year as students enthusi- asm put new life into the festivities. Careful planning of the celebration paid off as new activities were started and old ones caught fire. Anxious students, faculty and other spectators gathered on the back lawn transforming it into the site of the royal coronation. Armstrong,s rekindled homecoming spirit was launched with the crowning of King Charlie Tsatsos and Queen Sandy Harrer. Color was added to the week by dress-up days and resource room decorations. Prizes were awarded for the most original entries in both. Excitement mounted with qualifying matches in tug-o-war, armw- restling and skateboarding. New events such as disco dancing and frisbee teams sparked more student participation. Fridayls Pep- fest hosted finals for all contests, and two new events. A chal- lenge yell between football and soccer fans resulted in a pie in- the-face of the soccer captain as a reward for the loudest cheers. Competitors in the trike race charged across the wooden track showing their skill to the amusement of the spectators. The Dating Game, Florman,s Teen Angel, and musical numbers were just a few of the highlights of this years variety show. Football and soccer teams scored victories on Friday and Satur- day nights to top off a fun-filled Falcon festival. For one week, Armstrong was more than just a school.
