cfootfall l955 A surpr1s1ngly strong Nehalem team rolled through a hlghly successful season Wmmng both the league and d1str1ct champ1onsh1ps Nehalem s record for th1s year was 7 won 1 lost and 1 t1e Nehalem s only loss was handed to them by the strong S1letz Ind1ans 1n the quarter fmals of the state playoffs Played 1n a ragmg snowstorm the Seagulls put up a terr1f1c struggle but were not strong enough to stop the Ind1ans who later lost to Malm 1n the state fmals The luster of the season was marred somewhat due to the 1nJury of T1m Neket1n Hxs loss was greatly felt by the team The Seagulls were very proud to place three key men on the Shr1ners West Team for the B All Star game to be played at Pendleton next August 25 They are Gene Starr fullback J1m Waggoner end and Jack Brltton tackle Starr and Jack Br1tton were also voted by the1r team mates the most valuable offenswe and defenswe players for the season 46 . . . . y . , Q s 9 , . . . . 1 ' 9 . , . . .
