OGCICAUGH Enthusiastic, energetic, sympathetic, understanding and dedicated are all words which simultaneously come to mind when describing our head counselor, Mr. Chenney. Mr. Frederick Chenney was born in Canada, but came to California shortly afterwards. When he was eleven years old, his family moved to Bakersfield. He was a very active and popular student at Bakersfield High School and at the end of his junior year, was elected Student Body President. After graduation his family moved to Whittier, and Mr. Chenney entered Whittier College in the fall of 1941. He was invited to join all four of the fraternities on campus at that time. He chose the Lancers and served as pres- ident of this society during his senior year. Mr. Chenney received his BA degree in 1945, his sec- ondary teaching credential in 1946 and has since received his Pupil Personnel Special Services Credential. Mr. Chenney met his wife Betty while both were attend- ing Whittier College and they were married in 1947. A daughter Lee and a son John complete the family. We are most fortunate to have Mr. Chenney's friend- ship and counseling to help guide our way through our high school years. Under his direction the senior class leaves Neff with a deep desire to create lasting imprints in the sands of time , It is with deep gratitude for his enthusiasm and under- standing that we the students of Neff High School proudly dedicate the 1967 Troiani to our head counselor, Mr. Ted Chenney.
