The power of the printed word is every- where recognized as the corner stone of our democracy. Boys interested in vocations requiring manual skills may take courses in machine shop, printing, woodwork, and drafting. Ralph Frank learns the techniques of printing in one of these courses. Many boys gain valuable on-the-job experience that will help in the future. Home Economics is a subiect with which every girl should be familiar. The unfamiliar world of pins and needles at first seems a mystery, but soon the girls learned to make clothes they were proud to own. Toni Nelson aids a dubious Cathy Deutsch in fitting a sleeve. Girls often supplement their ward- robes with their own creations. WHERE WE are -'w ' Be careful how you do that, Jack, Marilyn Verste- gen seems to be saying to Jack Lemke. These seniorbiol- ogy students learn much from working with actual specimens like this frog. The better un- derstanding they obtain of animals, plants, and man helps them to more fully ap- preciate their environment.

Michelle Schwerin seeks help from Miss Peterson about her Latin translation of Caesars Gallic wars. Keeping posted on the changing world Sara Martin and Sue Grupe keep the civics bulletin board up to date. Throughout our four years of high school current events are stressed in our curriculum.
