Varsity Rockets four-wheel drive the Truck- ers to the bottom of a 65-43 score. Conference debate tourney is held at Two Rivers. Kimberly Papermakers frosh travel to Nee- nah. Frosh 29, Kimberly 27. Truckers show a lot of tight but Rockets down them 63 to 60. 26 Sophomore class invites the school to go on a Cuban Cruise. lt was a tropicadilly! 28 Freshmen Rockets meet Kaukauna here. FEBRUARY 1 Rockets start the month off right by defeat- ing Kaukauna 62 to 59. 2 District Debate. 7 Frosh basketball here with McKinley. Frosh triumph 51-47. 8 The most memorable assembly of the year. The Singing Marines thrill the audience in general and Miss Harris in particular. Two Rivers spoils the day by edging the Rockets 41 to 37. 9 Senior socialites get the iob Of an all school dance. Result? Heart-Throb! 14 Rocket frosh travel to Appleton to meet Roosevelt again. Frosh win 49-35. 15 Rcckets meet Kimberly at Menasha, but end up on the wrong end of a 59 to 58 score. 19 Otto Schacht presents music and philosophy to students in a very fine assembly. 22 Rockets slaughter the Bulldogs and set new N.E.W. scoring record. Final result Neenah 100, New London 371 23 Girls Senate sponsor a Political Party and come up with a big success. 25 Wilson plays host to our freshmen basket- ball team. Frosh 49, Wilson 32. 28 Frosh BB squad beats the BlueJays 45-27.

CALENDAR SEPTEMBER 6 7 12 14 20 21 27 29 Sunburned noses go back to the grindstone as school starts. Annual Quaker meeting assemblies held. Mr. Christoph and Miss Griffiths preside. Little pills passed out today To keep the goiter threat away. Varsity gridders meet West Green Bay there-bow 33-0. Assembly on electricity held sixth period. A sparkling performance was given, but Gordie Beck was shocked! Rockets trounce Kimberly in first confer- ence game. Score-13-0! First regular issue of Cub comes out. Frosh football squad takes on Kimberly here. Score-Neenah 0, KIm'oerly 18. Truckers and Rockets battle to a 20-20 dead- lock on the Neenah field. OCTOBER 1 2 3 4 5 9 10 11 12 Freshmen start the month out right with the Hemnon Nelson tests. Another after- noon shot! lndividual Rocket pictures taken. Smiles beamed and faded in the lower hall all day as the birdie performed. Student Council elections held, and the Memory Wizard performs at an afternoon assembly. Memorizing the serial numbers on dollar bills is nice work if you can get it! Frosh gridders nip Wilson at Appleton. Score-13-12. Varsity squad rolls over Two Rivers by a score of 9-6. Frosh tea sponsored by the Girls' Senate is held. NO SCHOOL! B.l.E. DAY Triple threat c'ay. Second iszue of Cub comes out, Rocket pictures are taken, and Frosh turfmen meet Galloping Ghostlets at Kaukauna. Score-14-2, Kaukauna. Neenah tramples Bulldogs 27-0 at New London. Bill Kutscher had a great day and led the Rockets to victory. 15 Rocket frosh take on McKinley. Win 12-7. 18 Big week for football! Frosh beat Roose- velt 19-7. 19 Annual pep parade is held to drum up spirit for the Neenah-Menasha game, and the Nl burns in spite of Blueiay attempts to spoil it. 20 Bluejays spoil Rocket homecoming as they win 13-6. 23 Seniors spend the afternoon on field trips to local industries as underclassmen turn green. 24 Girls' Senate presents the annual United Nations Program before an all-school as- sembly. lt was well done and very impres- sive. 25 Third issue of the Cub comes out. Bluejay freshmen invade Rocket field, but go home defeated. Score 19-6. 27 Rockets get back in stride as they scalp the Shawano Indians 14-12! 30 Boys in suits Girls in heels- lt's Senior Career Day For the Wheels! NOVEMBER 1-3 Month begins right!! No school because of . W. E. A. Teachers' Convention. 2 Galloping Ghosts roll over the Rockets in a rough game. Score 26-7. 5 Basketball practice begins. Girls transfer their attentions from the gridiron to the gym- 12 The Danks present an assembly. 14 Students sneak their cards away When grades come out it's blue Wednes- day. 15 Girst group of N. H. 29 Menasha is defeated by the Rockets for the second time. Score 53 to 51. MARCH Band presents its spring concert for the public. Regional Tournament starts. Neenah Rock- ets defeat the powerful Oshkosh Indians 53 to 46 and advance in regional play. Rockets defeat Menasha again 61 to 5l and go into the finals of the regional tourna- ment. Kaukauna bows to the Rockets and Neenah takes the regional championship by a score of 46 to 44. Sectional tournament opens. Rockets defeat a plucky Gillette squad 69 to 40. Advance to finals of sectional tournament. We Go To STATE! Rockets defeat Shawano 44 to 42 on a last second basket by-well your guess is as good as mine. Thespians present Glamour Boy for the students in a matinee performance. lt was wholarious! Play begins in the State Basketball Tourna- ment. The Rockets are defeated by Superior Central 50 to 47. Rockets tip Altoona to advance into the State Consolation finals. Score 68-39. A record crowd sees the powerful 'Tosa team edge out the Rockets 66 to 65 in an overtime contest. Senior boys and their fathers are guests at a banquet. Madelyn and Dick go out with measles. See April 3. Neenah choirs do themselves proud at the Sheboygan vocal festivals.
