Page lO School BO8l'd The Board of Education has general direction and control over the public schools ol the city. The members ol the Board are responsible lor providing an adequate educational program lor the young people ol the city. The Board is composed ol seven members elected for a three year term by the voters ol the city. lhe Board ol Education meets regularly the First Monday ol every month. It also has special meetings vvhenever problems arise which are ol immediate concern, and must be settled promptly. The Board has, as one ol its principal duties, the maintenance ol a satisfactory educational system at a reasonable price to the people ol the city. The Board has control over all money which is appropriated lor school purposes. They direct its spending, and they must give their entire approval before any ol this money is spent. All school allairs are managed, either directly or indirectly, by the Board ol Education. The Board ol Education is organized under a Wisconsin law which says that each city must have a Board ol Education to direct and control the chools ol the city 111' 1,1-61
