THE SENIORS When as freshmen l09 of us entered the hugh school s seemlngly spa CIOUS halls we were filled with awe but soon we declded there was more to a hlgh school than a large building A deslre to be flrst rn studies and first ln dCtlVltlCS took hold of us l'he tlme for our first class meetmg hastlly arrlved Our cholce of of hcers mcluded Charles Tessendorf presldent Ollve Tlpler vrce president Ruth lVlcCanna secretary and Abe Stone treasurer Our colors became old gold and purple-through a stuffing of the ballot by the boys The gurls flew mto a rage for they knew the rlvht colors by majorxty vote were white and old gold They calmed down however and their first party attended by the fellows as well took place February 77 1973 lVl1ss Smith and lVl1ss Beerbaum ably chaperoned To them many of us owe our first danmnf' steps Regardless of the good tlmes enjoyed and the lnterestlng studles taken sex en of our number dropped durmg the flrst year Our two star debaters Leslle Fadner and Elery Knudson showed us we ne ded lnltxatne ln the first year Leslle made the squad four years Flery in the frosh and soph years and Gunnard Ecklund ln hlS junior ye rr ln beptember I974 96 sophs entered wlth a desire to be boosters We elected Wllll Pearson Roy Casperson and Gretchen Sensenbrenner The operetta The Wlndmllls of Holland dlrected by MISS Gosselln was a b1U success lVlany members took part ln lt The year s social event was a demo cratlc dance fflven on l ebruary I4 Hearts as decoratlons proxed very sult able for the occa lon We enjoyed lt' Cnrls heartlly welcomed lVl1ss lVlath1s when she came to lntroduce Ath letrcs for all to them She started the wmmn of N s Thus brought the ffnl more mto the Splflt of things and they enjosed three sears under her supervlslon Nllldred Neablmv Grace Brextrelter Wxnnlfred Parker and lVla bel Bvlovx won thelr letters whlle Esther Blank Leona Chrlstensen NTHXIHC ohnson and lVl1ldred Popp were awarded emblems The l975 l976 school season found us headed by Valentme Becker Wlth Darrel Buchanan and Frank l-lockholver as h1s assxstants Tho e t kmg S eech took part ID the two plays and the fellows began showmg thexr ath letlc abllxty Svlvan Sommers Francis Hauser Fdwln Tyrlver and Aaron lhde proved valuable on Neenahs eleven Kenneth Olson was the assistant manager T TIVCT was the basketbal' star He was elected as captaln for the following These fellows wlth Olson as manager and Hauser as captam played football the neait year at vshlch tlme Te senclorf came out I' e . 1 . , - 1 1 Y 9 1 - 9 1 1 1 - - .
