1 HE QOPHCMORES Pep was the motto of the sophomore class as they entered N H S in leadership of President Llyod Hayes vice president ohn Schneller and secretary treasurer Laura Fahrenkrug During the football season of their freshman year two members of the cla s ohn Schneller and Clarence Mielke were on the football squad When the basketball season opened many ambitious fellows tried out and as the result of their efforts turned out an N man ohn Schneller. This years football men were Lloyd Hayes john Qchneller and Clarence Mielke all of them receiving their N s . The class of 29 also has made up a large part of the orchesta for the last two years. During their freshmen year the members were: Arthur Plank, Oswald Zachow and Raymond Gallrneier. This year also many sophomores respondend. namely. Dorothy Dubois Beryl Watts William Rather and Arthur Plank. The talent of the sophomores was shown in the operettas. Two years ago its representatives were: leanetfe Besscx, Beryl Watts and ,leanette Schmerein This year they were: eanctte Bessex Gwendolyn Breylinger, and Robert Gillespie. besides I7 minor characters. Literary genuis also has its part in the sophomore class. for it always has representatives on the Cub staff. Last year Robert Cilliesoie was the only one of the class to hold a position on the staff, but this year its members were William Rather Marie Fuechsel Edward Lowe and Kenneth Kitchen.
