The past is a key To the future, you see. Without it, you cannot say, I am me! Don't you EVER forget, your past Unless you want to be, a ship without a mast Or a broken arm without a cast. We must adapt ourselves to our new surroundings and make new friends. As a student of N.H.S. and as a graduating senior, I wish to speak for the class and truly say, Thank you. Thank you for the many things we have learn- ed and for the many wonderful memories we will always cherish. Kathy Gilmore Co-Editor of Tiger Spirit Class History Our freshman year we were just a lot of kids trying to keep it together. Class officers were Randy Hager, president; Missy Asher, vice-president; Paul Humphrey, reporter; Gene Patty, secretary; and Danny Hines, treasurer. Our sponsors were Mr. Short and Mr. Bates. In our sophomore year things began to happen. Our class won both attendance awards and were given two skip days. On our first skip day, we went to Marcum Springs. Part of the day was spent looking for Kathy Gilmore and Jackie Epps who went further down a trail than they were suppose to. On our second skip day, we went to Current River. Everyone ended up in the water even though the rule was NO SWIMMING. Class officers were Paul Humphrey, president; Missy Asher vice-president; Kim Emmons, secretary; Cheryl Fields, reporter; and Charlene Ovitt, treasurer. Our sponsors were Mr. Bates and Mr. Short. Our junior year we worked hard and gave this school the best Prom it has ever had. The theme was You Light Up My Life. To raise money we gave sock-hops, and we all took turns working the junior stand at basketball games. Our class officers were Gene Patty, president; Van Murray, vice-president; Randy Hager, secretary; Jackie Epps, reporter; Reggie Alcorn, treasurer. Sponsors were Mrs. Slayton, Mrs. Ware, and Mr. Strachan. Terry Nelson 12 The Incredible Hulk! SKIP DAY There's only one way to shut this guy up. Get those buns ready, Mrs. Ware. Kool and the Gang. Skip day was spent at Clearwater Dam. Mr. Rich went along as a chaperone, and he was a star player in the foot- ball game. Some seniors rented boats and stayed in the water all day. The following day everyone looked exhausted. 13 The catch of the day. You're leaning on me. Brad. Last year the Band Booster Club, made up of the parents of band students, was formed to help raise money for new band uniforms. They have sponsored Sunday dinners and talent shows, sold candy and cheese and really worked hard to reach their goal. This year our new uniforms were chosen and arrived. On Dec. 2, the band participated in the Sikeston Christmas Parade where they received a fifty dollar check for second place. This money will also go for the new uniforms. The band also participated in the Naylor Christmas Parade on Dec. 9. The annual Christmas concert was held in conjunction with a Band Boosters' Dinner on Dec. 17. Drum major and majorette K.
