THE TIGER 1964-65 NEELYVILLE HIGH SCHOOL Neelyville, Missouri Published by THE JOURNALISM CLASS Mr. Gifford, We. the 1964-65 Yearbook Staff, would like to ex- press our appreciation for all the kindness and con- NH sati°n y°U haVe given us in the Past four years at You have portrayed the roles of a friend and a teacher throughout our years in high school. With all this in mind, we. the Yearbook Staff, dedi- cate our 1964-65 “Tiger to you, Mr. Sidney Gifford. DEDICATION Mr. R. W. Blackwell, President; Mr. W. W. Ramsey, Vice-President; Mr. Carl Dollins, Secre- tary; Mr. Jimmy Jenkins, Mr. Sylvester Dollins, Mr. Arthur Gardner, Mr. Joe Hillis, Superin- tendent. At the head of the R-IV Public Schools is the Board of Education, whose duties are many and varied. It is their purpose to provide a helpful environment where each stu- dent will spend his school years, and at the same time regulate the activities which will afford each student an opportunity to become vocationally adjusted, socially adequate, and personally successful. No type of public service is more praiseworthy than that given by those citizens who devote their time and service to the school. For their untiring efforts we extend our sincere thanks. THE BOARD EDUCATION REORGANIZED DISTRICT NO. 4 THE SUPERINTENDENT SPEAKS A history of this school year is recorded in this annual publication; a year that will never be relived, except in the minds of those of us who participated. May it bring to you many happy reflections of those carefree and joyous days and serve as a reminder of the days and years ahead and the history yet to be written. My sincere congratulations to the Jouralism Class and your sponsor. Miss Rogers, for a fine publication. J. L. Hillis At a quick glance, this yearbook may seem to omit many of the things different students remember from the 1964-65 school year. However, the pur- pose of “The Tiger” is merely tobring into conscious- ness lazy memories of the past school year. Who can say what memories first come tomind; the assemblies, the basketball games, or class plays, or are they already forgotten when we are in the midst of baseball games and graduation. Perhaps these are the foremost thoughts, yet we know that some knowledge of biology, English, math, and history have settled in the corners of each student's mind. It is all behind us now, and maybe, when we want to reminisce, “The Tiger” will bring back latent memories. Miss Rogers and the yearbook staff are to be congratulated for a fine job of merging many little fragments of memory into a clear picture of this year in the Neelyville Schools. MR. FRED R. LIBRARIANS The librarians are composed of girls from the study hall, the history classes, and the band. The study hall librarians have the difficult task of keeping the newspapers, magazines, dictionaries, and encyclopedias in proper condition and in order. f They are selected by the teacher in the study hall of that particular hour. The librarians of the history classes are chosen by Mr. Hutchinson. It is their duty to check the books in and out and very often to repair books. The band librarians are elected by the band members. This is considered a very important office of the band. They must distribute the music, and keep all the unused music properly filed.
