Superintendent’s Message Religion, morality, and knowledge being necessary to good government and the happiness of man- kind, schools and the means of education shall forever be encouraged. These were not casual words. The philosophical ground in which the American dream had its roots held the belief that man was a creature capable of infinite improvement through the development of his intelligence. We, of Neelyville High School, hope to achieve this worthy goal by training the minds of all who enter our doors with a desire in mind to improve his intellect. This book has its place in the learning process -- a pictorial momento of others who, like yourself, had that desire. W. I. Green

MILDRED VANDOVER Elementary Principal It gives me great pleasure to watch you boys and girls grow, to see your progress in school and then to see you attain success in life. May you make the most of the many op- portunities that will come to each of you. JOSEPH L. HILLIS. Principal It is said that a hero of the long ago wept be- cause there were no more worlds to conquer. How little he knew of life as it really is. Never will it be true that there is nothing more to be done, that everything has been accomplished, that there is no more room for future conquest. Your parents and the patrons of this commun- ity have given you the opportunity to attend school until you receive your diplomas. You have been given every possible chance to make good. The world is full of wonderful opportunities and if you use your eyes, your ears, and your in- telligence you cannot help but find something to do and way to make this world a better place to live.
