'6We did get a lot of experience and I think it will prepare the boys for the varsity next year. We had the necessary speed and height this year. If we develop these, we should have an exciting season. Although the purpose of the junior varsity is to develop players for the varsity team, the members still find the game of the moment challenging. 175

After BI'0l.1gl'lt0I'1,S 68-57 win over Burlington in the first game of the season, Greensboro edged by the Caps, 54+-53. A second game with Greensboro finished with a rever- sal: Broughton outpaced Grimsley, 65 to 63. After an easy 81-67 victory over High Point, Broughton was usurped in the second match by the inspired High Pointers, 57-62. Accounted as one of the most excit- ing games of the season was the Caps surprising run- away, 105 to 76, victory over East Mecklenburg of Charlotte. Three of the High Point players seem to feel superior to such scrambles for the ball. Bridges is fuzzy in more ways than one. ..n 1- x 1 W .J Tv-' I , uf- 2? I. S' ,, - -if twig,- .f.
