Basketball GREAT EXPECTATIONS Never since the 1952, 1953 and 1954 State Cham- pionships has Broughton been as well represented as by the 1963-64 squad. The Caps finished the season with an overall record of nineteen wins and four losses. Co-Captains: Doug Bridges, Jimmy Broadway 67 Mitts M 172 :pw has ff 'Vx COACH OLIN BROADWAY CONFERENCE PLAY ln the conference schedule, Broughton won eleven of twelve games to secure the Eastern AAAA Con- ference Championship. The only defeat came at the hands of Durham's '6Bulldogs, who ran away from the Caps, 55-67. One highlight of the season was the return match with the 4'Bulldogs. With an inspired vengeance, due both to the bitterness of the previous defeat and to the enthusiastic support of the student body, the Caps racked up seventy-five points against Durham with sixty-two. The final game of the regular season fFayetteville, 63-601 qualified Broughton undisputedly for the conference title.
