Winter December brought Service Club inductions, Col- lege Boards, and Kiss Me Kate. We haunted Olivia Haney, working on semester projectsg we had pep rallies for basketball games, and went to swimming meets . . . Girls started knitting their own mohair and ski sweaters . . . The Senior Class Barbecue, the Snowball Dance, and Christmas Vacation were long-awaited pleasures that seemed to pass in a moment. The Theatre in Education came to Broughton and, reHecting present-day England, the Beatles added variety to the entertainment world. We struggled through exams, prayed for snow, and were usually rewarded by the inevitable Hsleet and freezing rain.
