Holliday is the principal of The Needham B. Broughton Senior High School. Also on the administrative staff are J. Watson Holy- field, assistant principalg Mrs. Lillian B. Sandling, Dean of Girlsg and Ronald C. Butler, Dean of Boys. Needham Broughton is the only senior high school for white students in Raleigh. Jesse O. Sanderson is superintendent of the Raleigh Public Schools. At present a new gymnasium which will seat more than 3,500 spectators, and a new cafeteria which will accommodate 700 persons are under construction. These new buildings should be completed for the 1958-59 school year. Plans have been made to remove the Milky Way, better known to the stu- dents as Pats, in order to build a parking lot for school use. Further plans are being made to construct the administrative offices for the Raleigh School Sys- tem on the lawn to the extreme right of the high school. With these new additions, the public school system will better be able to serve students of Raleigh.
