Jlwf JM . . . A BEAUTIFUL B ILIII G The fundamentals used in the making of an accredited high school are a beautiful building, a good faculty, and a cooperative student body. Needham Broughton has these three qualifications. Due to the increasing number of high school students in Raleigh, another high school, Needham Broughton, was built in 1929. lt was named for Needham B. Broughton, a prominent business man of the city. During its fourteen years of existence, the school has made many contributions to the educational life of Raleigh. Campbell is doc-tor for State College and has ofhees in the 4-ilyg Mr. J. U. Sanderson. superintendent ol' Raleigh schools. Mr. H. A. Helms, principal of l,l20 students at Broughton, worked to improve the understand- ing between parents, teachers, and pupils. He introduced new courses in the curriculum that would be of aid during the war. He spent his time wisely, and he stood for what was right. The students have learned to love and respef-t their easy going principal. Mr. J. F. Bryant, as Business Manager, has handled the order for books, instructional sup- plies, school equipment, and has had charge of the upkeep of all the svhool buildings and grounds in the city for the past nine years. ,lust before the LATIPAC went to press, it was an- nounced that Mr. Bryant would resign his posi- tion at the end of the school term.
