Ld . 'PHE I943 LATIPAU The l.,A'1IPAC is in four main divisions: Administration and Faculty, Classes, Activities, Features. Sibyl Goerch, as Editor-in-Chief, has made an effort to have everything up to date and better than ever before. The business staff is divided this year for the first time into a business group, led by Closson Allen, and an advertising group, led by Katherine Powers. lVlr. G. E. Crawley advised the business staff. The business group kept account of all financial matters while the advertising group solicited and collected for the advertisements. The snapshots, contributed by stu- dents, have helped in presenting a more complete picture of our school life. Miss Laura Helen Paschal was photo- graphic adviser for the LATIPAC. Mr. John lVIinter, of Edwards Sz Broughton Co., has worked with all the groups and helped them to put their ideas together to give you this book. This staff is grateful for his aid. The Raleigh merchants have helped Hnance this 1943 edition of the LATIPAC by buying advertising space. Their ad- vertisements may be found in the back of this book. The advertising and business staff of THE LATIPAC has kept a record of all receipts and obtained advertisements from various Raleig h merchants. Ayvock is secretary for Associated Chari- ties in the cityg Mr. Leroy Martin is a bankerg Ur. Y. M. Hicks is an eye specialistg llr. A. K. I'c-arce is an engineerg Dr. A. C. Campbell is doc-tor for State College and has ofhees in the 4-ilyg Mr. J. U. Sanderson. superintendent ol' Raleigh schools. Mr. H. A. Helms, principal of l,l20 students at Broughton, worked to improve the understand- ing between parents, teachers, and pupils. He introduced new courses in the curriculum that would be of aid during the war. He spent his time wisely, and he stood for what was right. The students have learned to love and respef-t their easy going principal. Mr. J. F. Bryant, as Business Manager, has handled the order for books, instructional sup- plies, school equipment, and has had charge of the upkeep of all the svhool buildings and grounds in the city for the past nine years. ,lust before the LATIPAC went to press, it was an- nounced that Mr. Bryant would resign his posi- tion at the end of the school term.
