Iiaistnrp of the Qlllass nf 1932 Now harken, readers all, and I will tell the story of a class thou knowest well. Prithee lend thine ears to me, for that same class will soon be leaving thee. N the year of our Lord, 1928, this goodly class entered the Hugh Moi-son High School as freshmen, right modest and bashful. Eorsooth, wc did not long remain bashful, for straightway we began to learn the ways of high school students, and right well did we profit thereby. Anon we did hold a meeting ot' our class and elect for President that valiant knight, Francis VVorth, and for our Vice President we did choose the fair lady, Elisabeth Davidson. ,Now when the time drew nigh for us to begin our Sophomore year it fortuned that a new school, the Needham Broughton High School, had been built in the westerly part of our fair town. Thenceforth we wended our ways thither daily, instead of to Hugh Morson. This year Elisabeth Davidson succeeded Francis Wo1'tl1 as leader of our class, and he in turn became second in command. Wit.hal our 'Sophomore year did pass right speedily, and when the golden month of September came once more, we were Juniors. Thus, when gallant Francis Wo1'tl1 was chosen President again, it fell to his lot to lead us in our task of acquiring moneys for and staging that muchly famed event which cometh every year-the banqueting of the Juniors and Seniors. Anon, when we set our- selves to making chains of the daisy that springetli up in the merry month of May, our thoughts began to travel forward to the time when we, as Seniors, should be honored in like man11er. And lo, the time did come. Albeit because of the slack and unprofitable times our term was shortened to eight months, in truth it was much fuller for our class than any year before. Our bonny Elisabeth Davidson was chosen to lead the class, and in faith right ably did she lead us. Then happed it that a goodly number of events did take place that year, amongst them the Senior Play, the Cabaret Minstrel, the Operetta, and then eftsoons dawned a memorable day, May 6. On this day, having been muchly instructed in the arts and knowledges of this world, we did receive our diplomas and did leave the Needham Broughton High School for the last time, as a class. We, the Class of '32, have striven mightily to live up to our motto Ducere, to lead, and set a dignified example for the young lads and lassies of the lower classes. And so, gentle reader, as we come to the parting of the ways, with many a sigh and a tear in leaving, we must needs bid thee a sad adieu. EI,EANOR R. SEAuLr:, Class Hrzfsforian. Twenty-seven

rupbecp New York, N. Y. May 20, 1955. Hon. Samuel Leager Governor's Mansion Raleigh, N. C. Hello Sam, ol' boy: I see by the papers you're making a swell place out of the old home state. That article you had in the Boloney,' magazine about prosperity is just around the corner is so much bologna, because, Sam, ol' boy, I've found out, after thirty years of searching, that this world hasn't any corners. And say, Sam, I see that the salaries haven't been cut but six per cent this year so I guess you are still getting cigarette money. I went around town and picked out all the busy locations, then rented small spaces for the unemployed to sell apples. My Hrst customers were Joe Moye, Elizabeth Wade, Kenlon Brockwell, Otis Jones, and Walter' Flournoy. They have only been out of work for six years and are selling apples temporarily. Joe Moye couldn't remember the prices so he had to stop selling them. And Sam, I wish you would pass a law to get Harry Beddoes out of School. Miss Hunnion wrote me today and asked me to use my influence in getting Harry out of her class. I went to Mars this morning on business and the rocket service is terrible. It took me four hours to get there and five to return. Muriel Blackwood and Emily Scott were the first persons I saw there. The have opened up a bakery and are killing the 4'Martians with biscuits. I looked at our earth from up on Mars and there was so much 1'ed tape I thought it was burning up. James Renn is the latest sensation on Mars, all the women are crazy about him. I went to at cabaret last night and saw Don McAfee. He is a gigalo. After the night club, at which Hazel Pike sang us to sleep, I went down to my club to get a bite to eat. The soup was so weak I got homesick for our old cafeteria at school. Twenty-eight
