English III goes deeper into the technicalities of grammar and composition and in- troduces the Americans Cooper. Harte. Poe, and Emerson. English IV is devoted to a final review of grammatical principles and research themes. Immortal works like The Canterbury Tales, Macbeth, and Paradise Lost are analyzed and explained. Business English trains graduates to take their places in the business world as typists, file clerks. secretaries. or executives. Journalism students learn the technique of good news writing and put these to practical use in puhlishing the school newspaper. The Bulldog Beat. Classes range from the simplest mathe- matics to the most difficult problem in solid geometry. Business mathematics solves the mysteries of per cents or the problems that arise in everyday business life. Algebra I and II Cover the uses of formulas, signed numbers, and exponents. Graduating to more difficult branches of mathematics, students take plane geo- metry. Rounding out the program, solid geometry and trigonometry are offered.
