The membership is open only to outstanding juniors and seniors, se- lected by a faculty committee. The new members, elected for their scholarship, leadership, service and char- acter, were: Cindy Keene, David Pierce, Paul Bennett, Kay Minister, Sheryl Dris- coll, Kristi Jensen, Tanya Siegfried and Kim Harris. An evening ceremoney by candlelight to install new members, was conducted by the current members, Diane Smith, Diane Chessman, Belinda Keene, Steve Herzog, and IVlatt IVliller. 23

.D.C. Not a Dream A Reality Vo-Tech Vo-Tech offers classes not usually available to students' in public schools, and was very popular with N.H.S. students this year. So 11 took the bus ride down the canyon every day to attend the school. Students are able to choose from a wide variety of class offerings. Some were: Cosmetology, Alice Ross, Office Occupations, Liz Landers, Cheryl Ceiloha, Andrea Taylor and Sheryl Driscoll, In- troduction to Computers, Chuck Sawyer, Linda Nummelin and Jeff Estes, Welding, Bobby Ty- ler, Project Hold, Rohn Young, Auto Mechanics, Paul Bennett. 22 A 'lClose-Up view of our government in action is what Debbie Blackwell, Londa Mohan, Alice Ross, and Sheila Smith got involved in during a week in February. The quartet, with sponsor, Dave Budz, traveled to the United States Capital, Washington, D.C. With open minds, they were able to form their own opinions about the government. Debbie showed nice coordination when she danced the jitterbug with lVlr. Budz, although it was somewhat less appealing when she tumbled down the steps of the Lincoln Memorial. Londa, shy as she is, managed to sneak pictures in George Washington's home. Alice enjoyed the company of many fellows, but what can you expect when you walk into the men's room. Sheila fell for a guy that couldn't swim, chipped his tooth when he dove in.

Cheers! Cheers! Cheers! They're the ones that go to all the games, keep up the spirit, and boost the pep rallies. They're also the ones who, in order to pay for their uniforms, sold eggs from door to door. Enthusiastic and Hcheer ful, they and the team members en- joyed a full sports year. The fall cheerleaders, who cheered at football and volleyball were: Cindy Keene, Diane Smith, Lori Smith, and Scarlette DeLancy. Cheering at the bas- ketball games and wrestling meets were: VarsityfTeresa Burris, Sandy Lewis, Vicki John, and Scarlette De- Lancy.
