Live Performances Enrich Musical Experience Starting with Band Day the musicians performed with honor and spirit and were enjoyed by N.H.S. students and other schools. The band members discovered a change of style and song as nrst semester director, Nlark Peterson, was replaced by Larry Trujillo in January. In all the concerts, the band was joined by the choir, who added rhythm and song to the perfor- mances. Altos, sopranos, tenors and basses joined in harmony and gave the school a new experience in music. Parents, teachers and classmates cheered the groups and the soloists. The excellent honor band traveled to other League schools to perform. 21

.D.C. Not a Dream A Reality Vo-Tech Vo-Tech offers classes not usually available to students' in public schools, and was very popular with N.H.S. students this year. So 11 took the bus ride down the canyon every day to attend the school. Students are able to choose from a wide variety of class offerings. Some were: Cosmetology, Alice Ross, Office Occupations, Liz Landers, Cheryl Ceiloha, Andrea Taylor and Sheryl Driscoll, In- troduction to Computers, Chuck Sawyer, Linda Nummelin and Jeff Estes, Welding, Bobby Ty- ler, Project Hold, Rohn Young, Auto Mechanics, Paul Bennett. 22 A 'lClose-Up view of our government in action is what Debbie Blackwell, Londa Mohan, Alice Ross, and Sheila Smith got involved in during a week in February. The quartet, with sponsor, Dave Budz, traveled to the United States Capital, Washington, D.C. With open minds, they were able to form their own opinions about the government. Debbie showed nice coordination when she danced the jitterbug with lVlr. Budz, although it was somewhat less appealing when she tumbled down the steps of the Lincoln Memorial. Londa, shy as she is, managed to sneak pictures in George Washington's home. Alice enjoyed the company of many fellows, but what can you expect when you walk into the men's room. Sheila fell for a guy that couldn't swim, chipped his tooth when he dove in.
