lame- President John Slovek Vice-President Bobby Williams ap Mr. Bartlett, sponsor of the eighth grade, had his hands full with 20 rip roaring pupils. This year brought five new additions: Harold Paul Ebersole, Bruce McComb, Richard Payne, Kent Braun, and Janice Davis. It is doubtful if some of the eighth grad- ers could have done their homework without the aid of Alexander Graham Bell'sinvention. Why didn't they also learn to use Dewey Decimal System? The day before term papers were due, you should have seen the library! It was total chaos. New teachers, homework, bus schedules, and just good old growing pains added to the confusion of the already confused eighth graders. In spite of these factors they had a good year. , STANDING: Bob Grant, Mike Lougee, John Slovek, Ron Richards, Bobby Williams, Gordon Wise, Harold Paul Ebersole, Rusty Berni, and Mr. Bartlett. SITTING: Richard Payne, Jack Kutsher, Janice Davis, Joanne Johnson, Margaret Franklin, Cynthia Grant, Carolyn Berni, Kathy Hight, and Kent Braun. In 1960 this group proved themselves to be workers outside of class and showed a con- siderable improvement in scholarship. The same basic group is back this year along with one addition - Paul Ryplewski. The sponsor says, The majority of my kids are suffering from a very acute case of 'Freshmanitisf This s evere malady has caused a general slump in grades and the resultant curtailment of activities. Though there is no known cure for Freshmanitis, the fatality rate is very small. They are looking forward toapros- perous sophomore year with a much more mature group. Due to illness Pat Riley and Larry Valdez were not present when the photo- graphs were taken. Larry Littler enrolled after the photographer visited our school. 3 U A ' Rice l-lall Paul Ryplewski President .... . . Shirley Coughlin Vice President . ..,. John Snell Secretary .... . .
