President, Karen Braun, Vice-President, David Poster, Sec- retary-Treasurer, Rodney Glasser. The Sophomore Class, officially known by Mr. Dunn as the Monsters, consisted of nine students as the year opened. In addition to the familiar faces of Jerry Baczkowski, Dave Poster, Rod Glasser, JoAnn McKim, Carolyn Prime, Tanny Sherwood, and Chuck Wise were two new students, Peggy Ferris and Karen Braun. Toward the end of the first nine weeks another boy, Fred Weaver, came from Denver, but left within two weeks. The class officers were Karen Braun,Dave Foster, and Rod Glasser,holding the positions of President, Vice-President, and S e c r e t a ry - Treasurer, respectively. The Student Council representatives were Tanny Sherwood and Chuck Wise, with Carolyn Prime serving as alternate. New to the class curriculum was a crafts class for girls, which they all enjoyed very much. The sophomores planned a P.T.A. bake sale for December ll. Also among the class activities was a Christmas turkey raf- fle, won by Kathy Henderson. All in all, the Monsters had a good year. Roger Snell ,:g'Uv'!. T Helen Gullett Q 3 Dan Gaetzke As the year started, the Junior Class, under the sponsorship of Mr. Dunn, consisted of twelve people. The new students were Betsy Ferris from Boulder and Chuck McComb from Gunnison while John Flatray left Nederland to attend school in Arvada. Dwight Hight and Chuck McComb were not present when the school photographer was taking pictures. The juniors had many activities during they e a r. They were in charge of Homecoming with Helen Gullett reigning over the evening. The class sold Nederland pennants, School Daze autograph books, and also sold re- freshments at the football Rayetta Roush Tom Benson Nancy Willman President Nancy Willman Vice- President Tom Benson Secretary-Treasurer Dan Gaetzke games. Gil Cole X Shirley Coughlin Ronnie Clubine Eva Tru 'in J O This classin 1959-'60 held the dubious distinction of being the worst class ever. In 1960 this group proved themselves to be workers outside of class and showed a con- siderable improvement in scholarship.The same basic group is back this year along with one addition - Paul Ryplewski. The sponsor says, The majority of my kids are suffering from a very acute case of 'Freshmanitisf This s evere malady has caused a general slump in grades and the resultant curtailment of activities. Though there is no known cure for Freshmanitis, the fatality rate is very small. They are looking forward toapros- perous sophomore year with a much more mature group. Due to illness Pat Riley and Larry Valdez were not present when the photo- graphs were taken.
